Do you know someone that needs a character reference for their work or life situation? If only you could find a way to allow others to say something nice about you so that others would realize what a considerate and valuable person that you are to have around.
People are hesitant to ask for a character reference for fear that if they ask for a character reference instead of getting good feed back...they might instead get a complainer who leaves negative feedback instead. How can you really trust someone to say something nice about you? An employer might call and the person giving you the reference might be having a bad day...he might pass that negative emotion onto the employer calling about you.
Instead of facing unpleasant surprises... some people are creating a resume website with positive character reference voice recordings from friends and co-workers who are willing to spare a few minutes to leave a voice recording by phone. The wave file is then uploaded to the resume website and a permanent record of your character reference is stored online for safe-keeping unlike paper copies that sometimes get lost.
A lot of employers are not giving their employees character references even after many years of loyal employment which makes it difficult for them to seek employment else where. The employers are not giving out character or work references because they fear that their supervisors will say something negative... which could mean the employee could sue the company. The hiring agent needs to have a character and work reference because they could be sued if they place the wrong people in the wrong positions. This means a lot of good people who spent years with an employer does not have a way to prove that they did good work on the job. They were people who obviously had the people and work skills to last 18-20 years but still they have no way to prove to another employer that they gave good service.
If only you could think of a way to survive in the world when everyone want to have a character reference and yet very few people are willing to give them. Here is an excellent video on how to give a character reference. It's called Lorelai's Letter - A Trip Down Memory Lane.

In fact if you have one of the many internet service providers that let you connect your telephone to the internet (Voice Over IP), you'll find services that let people leave voice email message that you can listen to on your computer. These same files if they were voice character references could be uploaded to your resume website.

What if the employer won't go to your website? Some people when they go to the job interview have a pocket cd-rom with their resume, and it is just as easy to include video and audio recommendations on the cd-rom media. These half-sized cd-roms can be found in most local office supply stores.
